On 17 March 2025, KCDF hosted our esteemed partners from the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word at our offices. This visit was centred around deepening their understanding of our development initiatives and how we collaborate with partners to drive positive change within communities.
Representatives from Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word were Ms. Cara Parker, Sister Edithe Wasike and Sister Betty Campos. Representatives from KCDF were Ms Grace Maingi – Executive Director; Ms Purity Murugu – Head of Partnership and Resource Development; Mr Caesar Ngule – Programmes Director; Ms Emilly Omudho- Team Leader – Livelihoods, Environment, and Natural Resources Management; Mr Gabriel Kihara – Team Lead, Monitoring Evaluation and Learning and Ms Mary Mwangi- Partnership and Resource Mobilisation Coordinator.
During the meeting, we had the opportunity to showcase the impactful work KCDF is doing in community-led development, specifically focusing on our ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of life for community members. We shared insights into our various programmes that empower local communities to protect and preserve their environments for future generations.
The Sisters of Charity of Incarnate Word representatives were particularly interested in learning more about the strategies and frameworks KCDF employs to promote community engagement, build sustainable environmental practices, and encourage long-term positive change. They better understood how we integrate ecological initiatives with broader community development goals through engaging discussions and presentations.
The highly productive meeting allowed both parties to exchange knowledge, ideas, and experiences. The Sisters of Charity of Incarnate Word representatives left with a stronger appreciation for the impact KCDF is making in environmental sustainability and community development and how our partnership continues to help improve the lives of many individuals across Kenya.
We look forward to strengthening this partnership and collaborating further to achieve our shared vision of a healthier, more sustainable environment for all.
